Rainbow nails!

Hello Hello all! I had my last final yesterday which means I am officially done this semester! And how do I celebrate you ask? I paint my nails of course! Since I loovvvedd MissJenFABULOUS's extra large leopard ombre nails so much I decided to do it again! (here's how they looked last time I did them). Check out her channel for awesome tutorials! I took some pics of the process :)

Step 1: Paint nails white

Step 2: Get your nail polish and sponges ready!

Step 3: Once nails are dry, paint one thick stripe of the nail polish on the sponge, then paint another thick stripe of the next colour beside it. Starting at my thumb I did red-orange, orange-yellow, yellow-teal, teal-blue and blue-purple. Then just dap the sponge into your nail. Pretty huh? :D (this step can get pretty messy, so use a Q-tip dipped in nail polisher remover to clean up)

Step 4: Once they're dry, add white splotches

Step 5: Outline the white with black, but leave some parts un-outlined and add some plain black splotches. Then once you've done that, add a topcoat and you're done!

Once again I got this look from MissJenFABULOUS. My spin on it was adding the rainbow :)

Let's talk Dresses!

I remember back in high school, probably around grade 10, I had this phase where all I wore was dresses and skirts. It made me feel fancy and grown up! Well that phase has made a comeback my dear friends. Except this time, it started because all my good pants ripped, not just to look dressed up. And just today I got this skater skirt in the mail and I love it! It's all swirly and spinny and black! Fun and it matches all my clothes! (Which is the problem with black. I buy black clothing because I know it matches everything, but at the end of the day... All my clothes is black! Alas! Oh well, still cute!). So without further ado, here's a list of gorgeous spinny (mostly black) dresses!

Here's a little confession: I didn't actually plan for them to be flippy black dresses, it just so happened that most of them were! Hope everyone's having a good week so far! I'm all done finals! So yay! But I'm still on the hunt for an apartment, wish me good luck! xxoo

want want want

As I anxiously wait for a reply about whether or not we get that apartment I shall make a list of things I can't believe I still don't have. I just want them so baadd! D;

  • Icing bags! And all of them tips
  • An iPod Touch. Yes, really! Wifi when it's around, helpful apps, awesome camera, lots of space for music... And since it's not a phone, there's no monthly bill! Perfect for moi!
  • Green nail polish. I have mint, spring green and teal but no actual green green! I want a medium-dark kind of shade.
  • Tights! I only a few pairs and they're a necessity when all you want to wear are skirts and dresses and it's not quite warm enough for bare leggies!
  • Dresses! Always need more dresses
  • Skirts. I only have one skirt that I really like. Need more.
  • Matcha powder! I've ran out of this so long ago
  • Concealer. Okay now, this is a big one. For the last several months I've been using this tiny bit of concealer my sister gave me. Not quite my colour, but it works. And you know what I used before that? More concealer from my sister, also not quite my colour. I had been using it for so long that eventually it dried out and I always had to mix it with either primer or moisturizer! I used that one for so long I can't even remember the concealer I used before that. So, I am in need for concealer!
  • Fancy shoes. Im the kind of gal that pairs her black chucks with every single outfit. Although sometimes I do switch it up and wear my leopard keds. And I like it that way. But sometimes, I wish I had something a little dressier. Like some cute black flats :)
That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there's lots more! This post was just for fun, hope I didn't bore you too much! ;)

Hey there! So nice to see you come out today :) It's sunny and gorgeous over here and I hope all is well for you! Here's some songs and a preview that I can't get out of my head!

Just give me a reason by Pink featuring Nate Ruess. I've been playing this all day everyday! Can't get enough of Nate's voice.

Say what you want about Ke$ha, but this unconstructed version of die young is amazing

Okay okay... I had do. If you tell me you've never heard of gangnam style, I don't believe you. Here's Psy's new song Gentlemen. There's something so epic about a whole bunch of people doing the same ridiculous dance move over and over.

Here's the teaser trailer for Catching Fire! This summer I am going to reread the series so it's fresh in my mind for when this movie comes out and I am so excited! Seriously, if you haven't read these books by now, do it!

I'm Moving!

Hey everyone! :D Hope y'all are having a good weekend, I certainly am! And I wanted to share my excitement with all of you! I'm mooovvvinnggg! Either the end of this month or beginning of May, my boyfriend and I will be moving to Victoria! Although we haven't found an apartment yet (and I don't want to jinx it or anything but) I know we'll be able to find an awesome place! Things are definitely picking up though and I'm starting to pack! I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am! Me and my boyfriend have been planning on moving in with each other for almost a year! And our wish is about to come true!

Also, lately things have been picking up since it's the end of the semester and I've had my papers due, major assignments due, midterms and finals are coming up. (Dun dun dunnn). So a lot of things are happening really quickly and there's lots to do (also very very quickly!) But it's exciting and I'm happy about all these changes! :)

So yeah, just wanted to share that :3

Faux ground beef/black bean filling/mush

Here's my recipe for "mush". It's pretty weird versatile. I've used it as a replacement for ground beef in tacos, nachos, quesadillas and I've had it on toast. It can also be referred to as a spread. Basically you can use it like you would use refried beans. It's just something to add.. to food.. to make it taste... tasty.
Alright! Let's get started then :P

  • garlic and onion
  • veggies (like mushroom, zucchini, green pepper, etc.)
  • oil
  • black beans
  • taco seasoning
  • water/tomato sauce/chicken stock

First chop up your garlic, onion and veggies.

Then fry them in some oil.

Next add your black beans. And as you're adding them, try to mush them with your hand. Or you could even mush them before you add them into the frying pan. As you're cooking all of this, keep mashing the beans. You want them nice and mushy ;)

Then add some taco seasoning. I got my recipe from here.

At this point it might be a little dry, so you can add some water/tomato sauce/chicken stock to help. Then once it's all mushy and thoroughly cooked, it's done! This time I used it in a taco quesadilla type thing. It was the black bean mixture or "mush", chicken, lettuce and cheese in between two flour tortillas.

(please excuse this ugly picture, I put it up cuz I thought it would help :P)

 Ta-da! Super tasty!

Nail Polish!

Good evening to all! Quite a while back I bought this matte green nail polish. I remember seeing it in a magazine and really wanting it. Then I found it in the store and I knew it had to be mine! I thought it was really cool but for whatever reason, never really wore it. I decided to paint my nails with it recently and I fell in love with it all over agin!

And just this past weekend I bought this beautiful "feather" nail polish from Sephora with a gift card I got from my birthday. From afar it kind of looks turquoise, but up close you can tell that it's little pieces of blue and yellow and that the base is clear nail polish. I really like this polish, the "feather" bits remind me of confetti and turn my regular nails into "party nails" :D I did find it quite scratchy though, so adding a top coat definitely helped with that. For this look I painted my nails turquoise, then using a makeup sponge I added black to create an ombre effect. Then I added the feather nail polish on top.
